Coming soon: VERY inexpensive computing. Already here: widespread recognition that our efforts to introduce computing in schools are inadequate. (What we call “computing” is called “ICT”–information and communication technologies–by the rest of the world) Watch the video: it’s a window into the future of education here as well as in the UK.

We should expect fundamental change in the way that computing is used in schools in Michiana. Using computing for collaboration–”web 2.0″ uses–will be included. Using computing for simulation and data mining, in every discipline but particularly in the STEM disciplines, will be included. But understanding computing, thinking with computers, algorithmic thinking…computer science will be included as well.
